Open access

Our Aim

We operate a warm, welcoming open access drop in centre where no appointment is needed to access our services.

It’s open Monday to Friday where staff and volunteers are on hand to help with drug and alcohol support, crisis intervention, benefits queries, housing issues and health problems or just a chat and a cup of tea.

We have partnerships with health professionals and on a Tuesday afternoon nurses can be accessed for advice and support on a range of health topics, Blood Bourne Virus testing and vaccinations (including offer the fast test for HIV with the Terrance Higgins Trust) and sexual health help. We also have nursing presence on a Thursday afternoon for a more limited range of services. We offer training on how to use and we supply Naloxone kits to our service users.

Also on a Tuesday afternoon we have various groups running from SMART Recovery to Harm Reduction to Anxiety Management. They have no waiting lists and are all very welcoming to new members.

We have activities running throughout the week, such as cookery lessons, film club, warm lunches and woodwork.

For many people our drop in is the first point of contact with any services and we can signpost and support to more structured assessment and treatment services, either within Sands Cymru or another agency, if more appropriate.

If you wish to find out more then pop in to see us or call us on 01792 472002.
